Clear PVC strip doors create a flexible barrier across an opening while allowing people, trolleys and forklifts to pass through. They are a practical option for commercial and industrial sites that need to separate work zones without the delay of opening and closing a solid door.
Reduce temperature loss through busy openings
Overlapping PVC strips reduce the movement of warm and cold air between adjoining areas. This helps cool rooms, freezer rooms and air-conditioned workspaces maintain a more stable temperature when the doorway is used frequently. Reducing air exchange can also lower the workload on heating and refrigeration equipment.
Control dust, airborne material and pests
A correctly specified strip door helps limit dust, insects and other airborne material entering a controlled area. Common applications include food distribution, workshops, warehouses, production areas and storage rooms. Transparent strips preserve visibility through the opening, helping people and vehicle operators see approaching traffic.
Maintain easy access
Flexible strips move aside as a person or vehicle passes and return to the closed position afterwards. There are no handles or powered mechanisms to operate. Individual strips can also be cleaned or replaced without replacing the complete assembly.
PVC width, thickness, overlap and material grade should match the height of the opening, the type of traffic and the operating temperature. Pedestrian doorways require a different configuration from large forklift openings or freezer applications.
Typical applications
- Cool rooms, freezer rooms and food storage areas
- Warehouses and distribution centres
- Workshops and manufacturing facilities
- Internal partitions and temperature-controlled zones
- Doorways used by pedestrians, pallet trolleys or forklifts
Selecting a PVC strip door
Austcold manufactures clear PVC strip doors to suit the measured opening. Wall-mounted and lintel-mounted arrangements are available, and the strips can be selected for standard, low-temperature or heavy-traffic conditions.
